Ex-Kotoko and Ivorian/Burkinabe attacker Ahmed Toure has shared his memorable goals during his duties at Kumasi Asante Kotoko but chooses the goal that took Kotoko to the group stages of the CAF Champions League 2006-2007 season as his remarkable goal.
Ahmed served Kotoko on three occasions. He won the GPL title with Kotoko on three occasions in 2007–2008, 2011–2012, and 2013–2014.
Toure began his career with Ivorian club Africa Sports Nationa before he signed with Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko in the 2007 t0 2008 season. The Ivorian striker came to Ghana again in 2013-14 to sign for the Porcupine Warriors.
In September 2011, Toure returned to the Ghanaian top-flight Glo Premier League for the 2011-2012 GPL season.
Toure scored over 60 goals in over 47 appearances for Kotoko during his time in Ghana.
Talking to the editor of ghanasportspage.com, S in China he remarked “I’ve scored a lot of goals in my career but to be honest I scored a lot of memorable goals especially with Kotoko. From Kotoko to Bechem, from Bechem to other clubs and Asec to a different club but this question is very hard for me to answer because I scored a lot of memorable goals, to be honest with you.
“I think the goal I always put on my mind I can never forget is the goal that took Kotoko to the group stages of the Champions League in 2006 and 2007. It was at Obuasi against a club from Madagascar. Kotoko needed win and I scored two goals.” He revealed.
Toure was the best player in the Ghanaian league during the 2010-2011 season Ahmed Touré chose the nationality of this country to wear the jersey of the black stars. Trained at the Sol Béni academy of ASEC in Abidjan, the player of Burkinabe origin first wore the Africa Sports jersey before joining the Ashante Kotoko in 2008.
In January 2021, he returned to Ghana again and signed for Tarkwa-based club Medeama SC. He joined them on a 2-year deal during the 2020-2021 GPL season. The deal was reportedly worth $ 20,000 by the local media. On his return to the GPL, he scored a brace on his debut on 21 February 2021 to help Medeama to a 2–1 victory over Elmina Sharks. His first goal came in the 3rd minute which was the fastest goal in the first round of the 2020–21 season.
