The ongoing Division One League Super Cup saw the two former GPL sides Tema Youth and Bofoakwa Tano in a clash at the Madina Park today.
It was the first clash between the two sides in the Division One League Super Cup. Tema Youth conquered the game by one goal win courtesy of Emmanuel Mamah.
Bofoakwa Tano was placed in second position in the Zone 1 Division One League whiles Tema Youth also ended second in Zone 3 behind Accra Young Wise, the newly promoted to the GPL
After the game, coach of the winning team Mr. Enoch Jordan Diatey revealed what helped his side to win the despite not knowing each other in a same zone.
In a post-match interview with the manager of Osei Kwaku Palmer’s side, he stated “We don’t have time to watch our opponents because of where they are from.
We are all from different zones. We are only two in our zone to play the Super Cup and I can say that I know who they are but looking at Bofoakwa Tano they are a good side, they are a very good side but we took our chances.
We could have scored more goals but tactically there was some indiscipline on the field of play but winning the game gives us more room to improve on our next game ahead of us.
“We are not thinking about the trophy because if you put that perception in your mind you can commit more blunders but what you need to do is, you need to study and look at what you gave to the players either they are doing the right thing or wrong thing. We are under a developmental aspect of the game. The trophies will come if you go the right way and the right way of play. He stated.” he told ghanasportspage.com.
The Division One League Super Cup is held at Accra with four teams competing for the trophy.
