Hearts of Oak’s spokesperson, Opare Addo has clarified the motive behind huge gate fees announced for CAF Champions League game against Wydad Athletic Club.
Hearts revealed gate fees for the crunch game on Wednesday where popular stand goes for GH 70, center line GHC 100, lower VIP GHC 200, and upper VIP GHC 300.
According to Addo, the rate are quite high due to CAF approving limited number of supporters- 2,000 to watch the game due to COVID-19.
“In the first place, we would want to tell our supporters that we are not in normal times. We didn’t charge such prices even when COVID-19 came at the beginning.
“They should bare with us once again because comparing the 2,000 CAF gave us to Hearts of Oak it’s peanut. But what can we do, we only have to make sure that we maximize so that we can get something positive for the team.” He said in a voice aired on Wuntomi Online on Facebook
WAC are expected to land in Ghana on Friday for the match that kicks off on Sunday, October 17 at Accra Sports Stadium exactly 15:00 GMT.
