Renowned football administrator Mr. Takyi Arhin known as Thunder has revealed the plans of the GFA based on sponsorship for the upcoming season.
The Ghana Premier League was played without any title sponsors in the just ended season but always using the pandemic as an excuse.
According to Mr. Takyi Arhin Thunder the management member of the local Black Stars, the GFA are working hard to find sponsorship for the League in the coming season and kits sponsors also.
The Kits Sponsors will be responsible for the balls, beeps, jerseys and all the materials needed for the league whilst the NLA might be the title sponsors. He explained.
Speaking to ghanasportspage.com he urged the football fraternity to expect more sponsorship for the league.
“All days are not equal. We are not in normal times. After Anas Expose we came to Normalization Committee and after the Normalization Committee COVID-19 also came so if you compare this days to the previous years it will be like comparing apples and onions.
“They haven’t relaxed. As am talking to you we are about to get about ten kits sponsors. The GFA is in talks with the National Lotteries Authority and other multi industrial companies for the upcoming league.
“The conversation with the companies is tight so far and they will be bring on board very soon. It will come out at the appropriate time.
“They are in talks with many companies not that the Executive Council have relaxed but we are not in normal times. He concluded.
“I have a song released in my heart that that there will be sponsorship before the starting of the league. He said.
“The GFA is in talks with the government to make it possible. Very soon we are going to there. Checking the body language of the new Sports Minister and how he is communicating with the FA it means we are going to get there very soon.
“It can be any of the big companies. GNPC have sponsored as before but I don’t know why KK Sarpong terminated that but still it can be GNPC, National Lotteries or any other big company.”
