Great Olympics gaffer, Annor Walker has said Hearts of Oak signed what he described as ‘bad’ agreement with Olympics in order to sign starman Gladson Awako.
Awako joined Hearts during the off-season transfer window aimed at improving the team’s quality for the CAF Champions League.
The ex-FIFA U-20 World Cup winner for strange reasons is yet to officially make his debut for the club since joining the team in August.
Currently, Hearts have excused the former TP Mazembe FC man from camp to sort out ‘personal issues’ as cited by the club in a press release few weeks ago.
Olympics trainer Walker, however, says the player has decided not to play for the Phobians and thus he is not willing to resume training with his new teammates.
“Honestly I’m worried for him, because he is my son and I made him who he is today so it’s my wish that management of Great Olympics will return the money and let Awako return to the club.
“He informed me that he is not happy moving to Hearts and he is not ready to play for Hearts, and he wished he is with me and I’m doing my best to convince management to accept the money and let my former captain return and play for me again,” he told Omy TV
The Phobians agreed GHC 10,000 transfer fee with theit neighboring rivals, which 50% of the fee has been settled.
According to Olympics, the remaining 50% was to be paid on October 2.
Hearts are yet to pay, which makes Gladson Awako a player of Great Olympics as per a clause signed by both parties.
“The contract between both clubs was a bad contract and for that matter you can’t sign a contract which has clause stating that, before 2nd October, 2021, Hearts must pay the transfer fee or else the player won’t join them.
“That is not good, so management have to consider the circumstances and allow the boy to re-join them otherwise the player will not play in the upcoming season”.
At the moment, Great Olympics have written to the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Player Status Committee demanding ownership of the Gladson Awako
