The second league encounter of the CAF Champions League play-off between the reigning champions of the GPL Hearts of Oak and Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club was a game that saw the Moroccan side bagging goals in the net of the Ghanaian-based club at the Stade Mohammed V.
Ghanaians were highly optimistic that Hearts could qualify after their 1-0 lucky win in Accra last week.
In the return league in Casablanca, the Moroccan side scored their first two goals in under 7minutes which was a heartbreaking story to the Ghanaians.
Hearts of Oak found themselves tighed with a rope of goals in the game.
WAC took the lead with a header from Tanzanian forward Simon Msuva on the 5th minute.
WAC kept on mounting the pressure on Hearts of Oak. Aymane El Hassouni doubled the lead on the 7th minute whilst Achraf Dari and Yahya Jabrane turned it to a 4-0 lead at the end of the first half.
After playing two minutes in the second department of the game WAC was back on the score sheet again exactly on the 47th minute to make it 5 courtesy of Ayoub El Amloud and the 6th from Simon Msuva as he grabs brace.
Patrick Razak came off the bench to score the consolation goal for Hearts of Oak.
The game ended 6-1 with the Moroccans granting the tickets to play in the group stages after a 6-2 aggregate scoreline.
Hearts of Oak will play in the CAF Confederation Cup after their huge defeat to WAC in the play-off in the Champions League.
