The Ghana Premier League 2021/22 season kicks off this Friday.
The official launch for the season was conducted this morning in Accra.
According to the President of the GFA the best referee for the upcoming season will receive a brand new car.
This will motivate the referees and prevent them from bad officiating.
90 match officials will be officiating in the upcoming Ghana Premier league, with an increase of 10 from the previous season.
The list, categorized into group A and B has 6 FIFA match officials in eatch group with Daniel Laryea and George Vormawoh leading the 2 group of referees for the season.
46 centre referees will be Assisted by 44 Linesmen in a league that is expected to produce fireworks.
Unlike the previous season where the Ghana FA named a list of 20 other officials on stand-by, the 2021/22 list comes with no stand-by list.
Experienced referees Jones Akubiem and Kenney Padi will be the oldest referees at age 42 when the season kicks off, while Mohammed Misbau and Maale Imgerde Ireme will be youngest of the list at age 30.
Among the list of referees that made the final cut includes Charles Bulu, Julian Nunoo, and Rustum Senorgbe who were instrumental in the previous season.
The referees have gone through several training and refresher courses during the off season, and believed to be ready for the coming season.
