Hearts of Oak star signing, Gladson Awako is expected to resume training in the coming days after a long break from the team.
The player since signing for the Hearts in August, has trained with his new teammates for two weeks before vacating camp due to issues that was widely reported to be spirituality.
Hearts of Oak issued a statement in September on the player’s absence insisting that the club had excused the former Great Olympics man to sort out personal problems.
Earlier this months, several news in the media claimed that the player is pushing for a return to Olympics with the top ranks of the Dade club confirming there has been an approach to nullify the GHC100,000 transfer.
However, recent gatherings indicates that the 30-year-old is expected to make his long awaited return as the start of 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League is imminent.
Awako is yet to officially make his Hearts of Oak debut thus missing the club’s three games in the CAF Champions League preliminary round. A competition that fueled his transfer given his rich experience with Berekum Chelsea and TP Mazembe.
The Ghanaian champions got humbled in the playoff round, losing 6-2 on aggregate against Wydad Athletic Club, hence, dropped into the Confederations Cup.
The Phobians have been paired with Algerian side JS Saoura and the first leg is set at November 28.
With Gladson Awako returning to training, coach Samuel Boadu could count on him to make up for the disappointing exit from CAF’ first tier inter club competition.
Moreover, he could make up the squad for the club’s opening league game of the against Legon Cities on Sunday, October 31.
