The head coach of newly promoted Accra Lions, Andreas Rainer Kraft has described the club’s first match in Ghana’s Premiership as historic ,adding that he feel very satisfied with their performance and the point they had after settling for a 1-1 draw with Elmina Sharks. Raul Salifu saved the day for Lions with an equaliser few minutes to end the match and that seem a better result for the coach than a loss.

“We created five or six chances in the match and I am happy about it . It is our first match in the premier league ,a very historic one and I am satisfied with the match “,he said in a post match interview .

Asked if he’s considered the huge challenge facing him as the season moves on,Andreas replied that his biggest challenge and fear remains the inexperience of his team but is very hopeful they will surmount the challenges .

” My team is made up of very young and inexperienced boys, that’s the biggest challenge we will face . You’ll talk to your players in the dressing room and see something very different on the pitch afterwards and wonder what’s happening . You have to check out the spaces opponents offer you (as a player) ,but I am happy we created chances .

Creating chances is important ,scoring is something else, fifty percent of goals coincide with mistakes”
Said the Lions coach, who expect his team to do better in their next match against Great Olympics.

Lions will play about four matches at the Accra Sports Stadium continuously before moving outside ,which is expected to cushion them build a good foundation as they fight to maintain their premiership status.

They play a home match with Berekum Chelsea in Accra after Olympics, before thrashing it out with Dreams FC,also at the Accra Sports Stadium.
