Former Ghana Football Association president, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe has boldly revealed that the senior national soccer team ‘The Black Stars’ of Ghana will surely defeat South Africa in Cape Coast to qualify for the play-offs of the Africa World Cup qualifiers.
The Bafana Bafana of South Africa won the first leg in Johannesburg by a lone goal to nil. Only one point is separating Ghana and South Africa on the table in Group G with South Africa having ten points to the nine of Ghana.
South Africa seems to give Ghana a tough competition in the World Cup qualifiers after failing to qualify for the African Cup next year.
According to the ex-GFA boss, Ghana defeated South Africa during his administration to qualify for the World Cup and has a believe that same thing will happen when the Black Stars takes on their opponent in Cape Coast.
Speaking to Sir Martin (K-Tee) of ghanasportspage.com, Dr. Tamakloe said “Absolutely, Ghana has the materials and if they play very good football and focus on the game then they should be able to defeat any team.
“We have defeated South Africa during a similar World Cup qualifiers when I was the Chairman for the Ghana Football Association and am sure we shall defeat them again to qualify.” He stated.
Ghana will play against Ethiopia in neutral grounds in South Johannesburg at the Orlando Sports Stadium and play against South Africa in Cape Coast in the second leg.
Black Stars will have to win these two games to book a ticket for the play-offs in the World Cup qualifiers.
