Hosting Ghana on neutral ground will affect us but playing at home is advantage to us – Ethiopia FA SecretaryThe General Secretary of Ethiopian Football Federation, Mr. Bahiru Tilahum has revealed that playing against Ghana on neutral grounds will negatively affect them.
Ethiopia will play against Ghana in the second league of the ongoing Africa World Cup qualifiers on 11th November, 2021.The game was supposed to come off in Bahir Dar Stadium in Ethiopia but the stadium was banned for hosting an international games and any other CAF competitions.
Due to the ban, the game will be played in South Africa at the Orlando Sports Stadium in Johannesburg. According to Mr. Bahiru Tilahum, the General Secretary of the Ethiopia Football Federation it will have an effect on the team playing without a home support.
Speaking to Sir Martin on GL RADIO in China Mr. Bahiru revealed, “To be frankly, it might affect us because playing home can give you an advantage.
“Psychologically and physically you gonna be fit when you play in front of your people at home and in your land. “Playing at home is nice but playing in South Africa might be different and psychologically it might have an effect.
“Ethiopia are hoping for things to turn around for them as they sit on third on the table in Goup G with Ghana having nine points behind the the table leaders, South Africa.
