Hasaacas Ladies secured their first 3 points of the group stage, defeating Equatorial Guinea’s Malabo King’s 3-1 at 30 June Stadium to join Wadi Degla on top of Group A after matchday 1, in TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Champions League in Cairo on Friday.
Evelyn Boadu scored twice alongside Perpetual Agyekum to give Hasacass the 3 – 1 victory over Malabo Kings.
This is the maiden edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League as established a year ago and it involves the top women’s club teams of Africa.
Hasacass Ladies is the first Ghanaian womens club to compete in the maiden edition of the tournament and the coach of the side Yussif Basigi was impressed after that scintillating performance from his ladies and has poured a praise on CAF to have organized such competition for the womens teams in Africa.
“I feel happy specially for the player, they had the chance to play as a team. Malabo Kings was a very good side but we managed to pass this match”.
“My compliments go to CAF for establishing women’s football, we are in the right direction. The future looks very bright and it’s a gradual process to become more like men’s football”.
Hasacass Ladies are in same group with Wadi Degla and AS Mande. Wadi Degla won 3-1 against AS Mande leading the group alongside Hasacass with all having 3points.
