The technical team of Bibiani Gold Stars, next opponents of Asante Kotoko in the Ghana Premier League were spotted at the stands of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium during Kotoko’s match with Bechem United.

Led by former Kotoko player and coach Michael Osei who was recently appointed as coach of Gold Stars, the mission of the team was simple, spy on Kotoko and take note of their strong and weak points, prepare for them using the notes taken and use it to win against Kotoko.

Bibiani Gold Stars are expected to host Kotoko in the 3rd Week Fixture at Dunn’s Park in Bibiani. The newly-promoted side won their first match in the Premiership by a lone goal against Berekum Chelsea.

Their weekend match against Medeama was rescheduled to next Tuesday before the titanic fixture against Kotoko on Friday. Michael Osei, who previously was the assistant coach of Asante Kotoko intends to put up a case against his former side by beating them. He was relieved as the assistant coach of Kotoko in 2017 and redesignated as the technical director of the club,a position he declined and chose to join Liberty Professionals, later joining division one side Star Madrid before his current marriage with Gold Stars.

The technical team of Gold Stars sat at the VIP and throughout the match were seen noting down points and sharing notes and ideas, with Michael Osei at some points trying to point some of Kotoko’s mistakes to Agyemang Duah, who is part of his backroom staff.

Kotoko rallied to beat Bechem Utd 2-0, leaving the goals late as Ismael Ganiu and Samuel Boateng scored goals at the Asokwa end of the field to go top of the league table, a position they previously shared with Bechem. This was the first time Kotoko was playing at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium after almost two years, with the stadium going through renovations by the National Sports Authority and the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
