The manager of Kumasi Asante Kotoko, Coach Prosper Nartey Ogum has negatively complained about the Dun’s Park in Bibiani after their GPL Week 3 encounter against the GPL newly promoted side.
Despite picking the three points after a lone goal win over Gold Stars, Coach Nartey Ogum insists the pitch was not conducive for their usual passes and moving game that could have helped them to net more than one.
According to his statement, the Dun’s Park doesn’t feature their style of play anymore and doesn’t feature the pattern he taught his guys to demonstrate.
The Dun’s Park is the home ground for Gold Stars and a place where they played all their Division One League games to seek for promotion into the Ghanaian top flight.
“The pitch was not was not conducive for our usual passing and moving game.”
“I think we are doing well. I don’t know what you mean by the best but if you look at the game model we are trying to put in place, trying to pass the ball and follow, change positions and what have you. I think is a new thing to them and I always say it will take a little bit of a time for them to become automatic in their performance without thinking and taking decisions on the field of play so is a gradual process and I know with time they will be used to it whether the field is good or bad. But am very hopeful that when we play on a good field like Baba Yara or Accra Sports Stadium, I mean on a synthetic turf like WAFA am sure we can play better than we did today.” Prosper Nartey Ogum remarked after the game.
