Coach Michael Osei, Bibiani Gold Stars boss has lamented about their slim defeat to Asante Kotoko in the GPL Match Day 3 encounter held at the Dun’s Park.
Both teams demonstrated an exhilarating performance but Gold Stars stripped off all their chances whiles Isaac Oppong’s long curling stole the victory for Kotoko.
Bibiani Gold Stars should have gone ahead by converting their chances but they were unlucky to find the back of the net. Their performance was so pompous despite a defeat.
Prior to game, both the playing body and the managerial board of the club vowed to give Kotoko a tough game and prevent them going three games unbeaten but the Porcupine Warriors came all the way from Kumasi to spoil the dance in Bibiani.
In a post match remarks, Coach Michael Osei lamented, “This is very very unfortunate game, this is the game we don’t deserve to lose the whole three points. It was balanced game, even we created a lot of chances more than Kotoko but the only small chance that they got gave them the win, it is part of the game so we have to move on and make sure that we do better in the next game.”
“We didn’t play badly, I saw the boys were very determined. They were able to create a lot of chances even the last one that Prince Owusu got he should have levelled the game.”
“One of our goal scoring chances that we missed should have been scored and that will be good but we will learn from it to make sure that we do our goal scoring exercise very well and convert our chances in our next game.
“For my experience in the game I can see is normal, is part of the game so we need to learn a lot from this game because this is the game we shouldn’t have lost but is part of the game. We will learn from it and do better in our next game.”
Gold Stars will take on Elmina Sharks in Week 4 of the Ghana Premier League 2021/22 season.
