Former Black Stars defender, Frimpong Manso has tasked the Black Stars of Ghana not to talk if they don’t take their chance to qualify ahead of South Africa in the ongoing World Cup qualifiers on Sunday evening.
The hope of the Black Stars to qualify is thrown in doubt after leaving the top spot in Group G to their counterpart South Africa.
Ghana need to win against South Africa to book a place in the playoffs of the World Cup qualifiers in Africa but a draw will guarantee South Africa to cross over.
The Bafana Bafana’s are on top of the table with 13 points whiles Ghana sit on the second position with 10points.
South Africa defeated Ghana in the first league encounter after Bongokhule’s 83rd strike at the First National Bank Sports Stadium, Johannesburg.
South Africa have drawn one and won four out five games in Group G whiles Ghana have won three, drawn one and have lost one.
Frimpong Manso on his advice to the Black Stars ahead of tomorrow’s game has tasked the entire team not to talk if they don’t take their chances to make it to the playoffs.
Speaking to Richmond K. Entsie on Accra-based Original FM, Manso divulged, “I think there’s no need to talk much about this South Africa game because our faith is in our own hands. Though South Africa are leading but you can still qualify if you win with even one goal.
“There’s no need to talk to anyone if they don’t take their chances. There are players who play in Europe and when you check the situation playing against Ethiopia, Zimbabwe and South Africa this is the group we should have already qualified from easily. This is not the South Africa of our time but winning away game was even difficult. For me I think they have their destiny in their own hand so they have to determine whiles we are once playing at home and at home you have to make sure that you win.
“They should mount pressure in the entire 90minutes. If you don’t mount the pressure on them in the first half then the pressure will be on us in the second half. When it happens like this the home fans will not exercise patience.
“This is a game they should determine themselves.”
