Wa based FIFA referee, Adaari Abdul Latif has been appointed as the center referee for Match Day 4 epic encounter between Ashanti Gold vs Hearts of Oak. The scheduled encounter is set to be staged at the Obuasi Len Clay Sports stadium on Sunday, November 22 at exactly 3pm.
Referee Adaari Abdul Latif will be assisted in line 1 and 2 respectively by Augustine Soglo Darkwa and Eric Ndebugri.
Fourth official on the day will be referee Eric Sefa Antwi with Nana Boamah Darko as the Match Commissioner.
The 33-year Ghanaian FIFA referee last appeared in Ashantigold’s epic encounter against Berekum Chelsea in the 2020/21 FA Cup Semi-final at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium where Ashantigold belabored Berekum Chelsea by 4-1 emphatic victory.
In the 2020/21 GPL season, referee Adaari handled an epic encounter between Hearts of Oak and Ashantigold at the Accra Sports Stadium.
After the game, Accra Hearts of Oak made a complaint to the GFA, claiming Referee Adaari should have awarded them a penalty in the early minutes of the game.
The club requested for a review claiming the AshantiGold goalkeeper held their attacker in the penalty box and deserved a penalty.
The committee found that referee Latif Adaari had made no clear and obvious error in not awarding a penalty because there was no significant contact from the AshantiGold goalkeeper to merit one neither did he deny the Hearts attacker an obvious goalscoring opportunity as Hearts claimed.
