Former Asante Kotoko defensive midfielder and the current captain of Kumasi-based King Faisal, Michael Akuffu has described his time with Asante Kotoko as the best moment in his life.
Akuffu 33, joined Asante Kotoko in 2010 and played until 2017 before leaving the club.
The 33-year-old midfielder is the current captain for King Faisal since joining in 2019.
Despite playing in Finland and other African countries he remarks his days with Kotoko as the best moment.
Speaking to Isaac Ganyo Tamakloe of ghanasportspage.com Akuffu disclosed, “I joined Kotoko in 2010 and is the best moment of my life because it was my dream to play for Kotoko during my childhood and by God’s grace I had the opportunity. The opportunity came in such a way that when you play for Kotoko it is likely to travel abroad to further your career. I chose Kotoko because it is the club on my heart.
“We had a fine performance when the opportunity came and everyone saw where we took the team to in the Ghana Premier League.” He concluded.
Akuffu is yet to kick a ball in the new GPL season after a successful surgery.
