Head Coach of Ghanaian side Hasaacass Ladies has applauded the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for establishing the CAF Women’s Champions League.
Despite a defeat in the finals, Hasacass Ladies will remain in the history of African Football for depicting a great performance from day one to the end of the maiden edition of the competition.
Speaking to UTV news, Coach Basigi explained “In all, the competition was very good because it has taken the Women’s football in Africa to the whole world. Many were underrating women’s football but until this tournament, they’ve seen it as genuine. He said.
“The Champions League has given the needed exposure in women’s football. He concluded.
Hasacass Ladies prevailed from WAFU Zone-B as a champions to have a chance to compete in the maiden edition of the tournament.
Evelyn Badu emerged as the Best Player Of The Tournament and also won the Golden Boot after scoring five goals at the competition.
