Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko midfielder, Michael Akuffu has expressed his interest in playing for the Porcupines again before he retires from football.
The ex-defensive midfielder, Akuffu played Asante Kotoko between 2011 and 2017. He was part of Ghana’s U20 team during 2003 and 2004. He later joined the Ghana’s squad for the Olympics games in 2008 and was also capped in 7 games for the senior national soccer team, The Black Stars of Ghana.
The 33-year-old Ghanaian Star currently play his club football for Kumasi-based side King Faisal
The former Ghana youth midfielder also spent time abroad to play for the likes of Asec Mimosa, FC PoPa in Finland and Lebanese side Al Ansar.
Reacting on his expectations for Kotoko u-turn, Akuffu stated “Why not? Sometimes, it happens even it is possible in Europe and other continents. Most of the South American players likes going back to their clubs after playing in Europe and I will use Daniel Alves for example. He just returned back to Barcelona.
“Why not, if it is possible. We just have to pray for long life.” He said
