Accra Hearts of Oak new signing Gladson Awako has apologized to the Phoobian fraternity after a long absence following his move from Accra Great Olympics.
The 30-year-old defender joined the league champions after a successful season with their city rivals, Great Olympics.
The prodigal son was captured training with Hearts in a three days ago after making a u-turn.
Reacting on his Hearts of Oak return on GPL Xpress, Awako apologized, “I am ready to accept any punishment and criticism. I’ve let my players down, I’ve let the club down, the coaches as well. I want to take this opportunity to say a big sorry to them especially my teammates. They should forgive me. I’m very sorry, I’m truly sorry. From my heart I’m very down so they should forgive and accept me as their brother for us to work together as a team. We can work together and the club will be at where we want to be.” He said.
Awako had previously played for TP Mazembe, Phoenix Rising Star and Brekum Chelsea and also played for Olympics since 2019 to 2021.
