Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko defensive-midfielder, Michael Akuffu has disclosed what he achieved playing with the legend Asamoah Gyan and Prince Tagoe at the national youth team.
Michael Akuffu played in the Ghana U20 team between 2003 and 2004. Akuffu was part of Ghana’s squad that participated in the 2008 Olympic Games and also appeared in seven games for the Local Black Stars.
Giving an account of his playing time with ‘Baby Jet’ Asamoah Gyan and Prince Tagoe, Akuffu disclosed “I enjoyed playing with Asamoah Gyan and Prince Tagoe. They are my seniors and I learned a lot from them despite being a defensive midfielder.
“Asamoah Gyan will always encourage you when playing. His confidence level was so strong. I enjoyed playing with them. Prince Tagoe is also an experienced player and I still use to talk to him. They are well-known players which you can’t leave behind.” He concluded.
Akuffu currently captains GPL side King Faisal and is yet to kick a ball in the just started Premier League after a long-term injury.
