The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has adjourned the Africa FIFA World Cup qulifiers playoff draw to January 2022 from the initial date December 18 ,2021.
Elsewhere, the January 2022 rankings will be used to seed the teams during the draw.
This new date was announced at the 13th CAF Extraordinary Assembly on Friday, 26th November, 2021 in Cairo.
10 teams will be competing for a spot in the upcoming World Cup.
Ghana, Mali, DR. Congo, Senegal, Cameroon, Nigeria, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco and Algeria have qualified for the playoffs.
Per October’s FIFA Rankings, Pot 1 will is made up of African Champions Algeria, Senegal, Morocco, Nigeria and Tunisia whiles Pot 2 contains Egypt, Mali, Ghana, DR Congo, and Cameroon.
This means Ghana will likely draw one of Algeria, Senegal, Morocco, Nigeria or Tunisia in the final round.
