Following King Faisal’s 3-2 away victory to halt Kotoko’s unbeaten round in Match Day 6, Wadudu Yakubu has revealed how the team prepared prior to the start of the current season.
The ‘Isha Alha’ boys struggled to escape relegation last season after ending the season at the 15th position with 41points.
Despite one time defeat, King Faisal have had a splendid performance in their first five games having won their first three games before loosing one nil to Berekum Chelsea in Week Four and held in 0-0 draw with Medeama and have defeated the Porcupines to record their fourth victory of the season in week six.
The midfielder insists King Faisal will work hard for a continuation of the performance they’ve demonstrated in their first six season opener(s).
Talking to Isaac Ganyo Tamakloe of ghanasportspage.com, Wadudu revealed “We struggled last season so we have to learnt from it that’s why you can see things are going on well for us and not just like that but we prepared well for it and God has also helped us to make it possible. Our performance for the past two seasons wasn’t good but we will make sure to prepare well this season than the previous season’s that affected is battling to escape relegation.
“Our preparation is okay that’s why we are found at the right position on the table now.” He said.
King Faisal are currently leading the league table with 13points after trailing Asante Kotoko by 3goals to 2 in Kumasi derby.
Alhaji Grusah’s boys will on week seven welcome Elmina Sharks at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
