The double agony of losing 3 points to City Rivals King Faisal and painfully losing star player Salifu Mudasiru in the next match is making Kotoko coach Prosper Ogum Nartey sleepless, as he continues to find means of maintaining the club at the summit of the league table.
With few minutes to the end of the Kotoko -Faisal match, Mudasiru picked a yellow card after a tackle, to which he was carded which suspends him from the next match against Real Tamale United, something the Kotoko coach is not happy about.
Asked at the post-match if he is concerned about cards attracted by his players as Richard Boadu missed the Faisal match due to a red card, Ogum disagreed with any assertion of indiscipline by his players and insisted that none came as a result of indiscipline but tackles.
He was not enthused by the card given to Mudasiru explaining that he went for the ball and got the ball, calling the card “unnecessary”. Mudasiru was booked during the matches against Gold Stars in Bibiani and Techiman Wonders in Kumasi.
The coach said the player is gutted for the card thus his reaction of being upset. The coach praised Kotoko supporters for the massive support shown to the team.
“Support was amazing and even when we were down, the supporters never stopped singing and urging us on, chanting slogans of the Porcupines and doing everything to aid us. We are grateful to them.
