George Afriyie, former vice president of the Ghana Football Association has added his voice on the “unpopular ” decision to reduce the number of teams in the Division One League whence a new structure for congress.
The current administration led by Kurt Okraku has decided to reduce the number of the Division One League to eighteen clubs for next season’s football calendar.
When asked what he makes of the FA posture in the wake of petition sent to them for perusal, he quizzed, “Total disrespect is what the Ghana FA has shown to it’s members. The Ghana FA is making it seem the 54 clubs do not matter but fortunately, our laws are clear and we will go by it”
He added, Our laws gives the FA 15 days to respond to the petition and if they fail to respond, the petitioners can call for congress and any decision resolved at the congress would be binding for the FA. George Afriyie told Oyerepa Sports.
