The national coordinator of the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), Joseph Nkoo has confirmed Ghanaian football club Accra Hearts of Oak was served with a writ to appear in court following their failure to pay for the SNNIT contribution of their workers especially the playing body.
Joseph Nkoo who would not disclose the exact accumulated amount the Ghanaian football giants owe disclosed the Phobian club on Friday agreed to pay GHC50,000 of the money owed.
According to him, a payment plan has now been drawn for the club to complete payment up to date.
The National Coordinator, speaking on Midfield Action on Kessben TV, revealed that a number of Ghanaian football clubs have not been paying the SSNIT of the players.
He divulged that, for Obuasi-based Ashgold, a bench warrant had to be issued for the arrest of the CEO following his reluctance to fulfill the payment.
