Former Ghana goalkeeper, Ali Jara has called on the GFA and the Black Stars management committee to hand Ghanaian knack attacker, Jordan Mintah who plays his club football for Malaysian club, Terengganu FC a call-up into the team’s AFCON squad.
Based on his speech, the Black Stars need to solve the one-goal project with a striker who is capable of producing as he picked Jordan Mintah over others.
“I think it is good, although I’ve not watched the guy but if he can play and score there’s nothing wrong because we have to end the one goal project no matter the country he is playing his club football. He quizzed.
“Checking the North Africans, 95percent of the players are playing in the local league but whenever they participate in a tournament they perform well. No matter the country if the performance is good you will be invited. If Milovan can make his team from 40 to 50 for the camping until the pruning I think is good.
“Most of the time it depends upon the country he is playing his club football and the number of followers. For example, in 1993 Roger Milla retired but during the time they qualified for the World Cup for 1994 they called him to their Premiership in Cameroon and was part of their World Cup squad, and he even won the goal key so it doesn’t matter. It depends upon the player’s capability of can-do spirit so if he is doing well all eyes must be on him.” He added.
Jordan Mintah won the golden boot last season in Malaysia after scoring 16goals in 12games.
The former Wassaman United attacker kept on scoring in the Malaysian Cup before they were eliminated in the knockout stage.
