Former Ghanaian footballer, Salifu Ibrahim has shared his opinion on the Black Stars current squad for the pre-Afcon.
The veteran footballer insist comments and criticism must stop until the release of the final squad.
Speaking to Isaac Ganyo Tamakloe of ghanasportspage.com Ibrahim Sunday explained “I think too much criticism is not going to help us because only the coach has been given the green light to select players. If he has selected the players what we want now is performance. Isn’t it? So we should wait, we can even ask the coach about certain players, he has to give us the reason why he called them and then later if they go and the performance of those players is poor to then we can hold him responsible. As a coach this is what I think” he said
“Sometimes when we don’t have confidence in the players they go and they do well, sometimes we have some too they go and they don’t do well so as I said let us wait and see the final squad and then we can go to the coach and put some questions to him for explanation and then after that when they go and they perform it’s fine and if they don’t perform that’s where we will question him” he stated.”
The Black Stars will have their preparations in Qatar with a friendly and wrap it up with Algeria before the departure for the destination in Cameron.
Ghana is paired with Morocco, Gabon, and Comoros in group c.
