Legendary Ghanaian defender Emmanuel Armah Senegal has revealed why Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts are not performing in Africa, unlike the previous years.
The former Hearts of Oak midfielder insists frequently changing of technical team and players is the main issue that is affecting the two Ghanaian giants to decline whenever they go in for either CAF Champions League or Confederations Cup.
Armah Senegal did not win any continental trophy in his career but as compared to their time the performance was massive.
Speaking to Isaac Ganyo Tamakloe, a writer of ghanasportspage.com the legend noticed “Kotoko and Hearts of Oak are teams that always want to win their matches because of that if they don’t do well one season they can’t wait to groom the players for the next season. They sack a lot of players and bring others. It doesn’t make the team collectively and they keep on changing players and technical team, that will not help them since it is the problem they have.”
“It is affecting them because if they don’t do well in one season they should sit down and find why they are not doing well and then if you ask yourself why you find the answer and then you circle the answer for good preparations and then you can do better.” He said.
The 53-year old was a member of Ghana’s 1992 AFCON squad.
