Kotoko captain, Abdul Ganiu says they will fight hard for GPL title after FA Cup short exit

The Porcupines were eliminated from the MTN FA Cup Round 64 yesterday after a 1-0 defeat to their city rivals King Faisal at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Baba Yahaya scored the only goal for King Faisal to progress.

After disappointing the fans of the club, the captain Abdul Ismail Ganiu has promised to fight hard to win the trophy to keep the hearts of the Porcupines.

Kumasi King Faisal is the only club to have beaten Asante Kotoko twice this season both in the GPL and the MTN FA Cup.

“We are not happy about our exit from the FA Cup. We will work harder and keenly contest for the GPL trophy.” Ganiu stated.

Kotoko will take on league leaders Aduana Stars on Sunday for GPL Week 11 encounter.
