League leaders Asante Kotoko head Coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has expressed loads of excitement over his side’s record win over Dormaa based Aduana Stars in Dormaa on Saturday in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) week 11 fixture.
The Porcupine Warriors on Saturday did not just broke the jinx of having not scored a league goal against the Ogya lads in Dormaa since 2009, but also went ahead to defeat Aduana Stars by 2-0 to record their first ever win in Dormaa after a decade of their debut in the top flight.
While explaining the secrets behind the unprecedented victory, coach Ogum expressed his delight of leading the side to such a landmark victory on Saturday.
“Very satisfied, is very joyous if you make history”, Ogum told reporters after the game. “These jinx have been there over the years and we’ve been able to break them”, he said with enthusiasm.
The former WAFA gaffer was moreover quick to commend his players for putting all other distractions and “intimidation” aside to stay put to his instructions, which paid off at long last.
“Kudos to the boys. As I told you before the game I told them that the threat, the intimidation, the fear outside the field will come but they need to stay focused and by the game plan and if you see the way we played we were very confident on the ball, we were very confident without the ball. We kept to our game plan keeping the ball on the turf, looking at the pocket of spaces and playing the ball through”, Ogum said.
