Five time champions, Cameroon made a great come back to beat Ethiopia with 4-1 scoreline.
The Indomitable Lions went down by a goal after first four minutes of the game following Dawa Hotessa’s goal but they did not give up as they fought for the equalizer just after four minutes through Karl Toko Ekambi.
The Ethiopians were able to maintain the 1-1 scoreline until 53rd minute, where captain Vincent Aboubakar extends the lead for the hosts.
Following the impressive performance from the Indomitable Lions, Vincent Aboubakar grabbed his second brace in the tournament as he handed his nation a 3-1 lead in just two minutes after getting the second goal.
The Ethiopia national team could not stand on their grounds to stop the five times champions but opened up their defense and allow Cameroon to get the fourth goal courtesy of Karl Toko Ekambi as he also recorded his first brace of the tournament.
With six points, the hosts have snatched the ticket for the round 16 of the competition with a game in hand.
Their last group game will be against Cape Verde on Monday, 17th January 2022 as Ethiopia lock horns with Cape Verde simultaneously at exactly 4:00PM (16:00GMT).
