After suffering a 2-1 defeat to Cameroon in the AFCON 2021 opener, the West Africans had a recovery strength to defeat Cape Verde by a goal to nil at the Olembe Sports Stadium, Yaounde.
Cape Verde was hoping to earn their second victory to join their counterpart, Cameroon in the round 16 stages.
Impressively, the Blue Sharks gave the Stallions a tough game but Hassane Bande’s breathtaking strike makes the headline to keep the West Africans round 16 qualifications hope alive.
Bande chested a crossing from Issa Kabore at the 39th minute after introducing a free-flowing football from their half.
After all, the loser dominated with 56percent ball possession and made 7 shots with 2 on target, Burkina Faso also had 11 shots, 4 on target, and dominated 44percent ball possession.

After the second round in group A, Cameroon tops the table with 6points, as Cape Verde and Burkina Faso share the 2nd and 3rd position with 3-3 points whiles Ethiopia with no points sits at the bottom of the table.
In the last fixtures in Group A, we see a clash between Cape Verde and Cameroon, as Burkina Faso also takes on Ethiopia on Monday.
