The Comoros national team have learned lessons from the first two matches in their Africa Cup of Nations campaign so far, following defeats against Gabon and Morocco, official of the Comoros Football Federation has told ghanasportspage.com
The AFCON newbies were given unpleasing welcome to the Nations Cup competition with two straight defeats in the hands of The Panthers of Gabon (1-0) and the Atlas of Morocco (2-0) in their first two matches of Group C in the Africa Cup of nations in Cameroon, and they believe the two defeats have given them much insights of the tournament going into the last group game against Ghana on Tuesday.
“It’s very possible [to beat Ghana), General Secretary of the Comoros Football Federation , Stephane Aboutoihi said in an interview with ghanasportspage.com. “We learned in the match against Gabon, we learned in the match of Morocco. It’s the first time we go to the Africa Nations Cup, it’s difficult for us but we learned a lot and we will be very careful against Ghana”, he revealed.
Stephane Aboutoihi further revealed what Comoros must do to put Ghana to the sword on Tuesday, as he calls for dynamism in their play against the Black Stars.
“All the players must concentrate, be more dynamic and we hope we win our first victory in this tournament”, he said.
According to Stephane, Comoros respects Ghana but the stars in the camp of Ghana only comes as motivation for Comoros.
“I think in the match of Gabon we made some mistakes, against Morocco the players of our side were not dynamic, so against Ghana we have to be more dynamic, we have to concentrate and we have to be more relaxed to have the victory. So I hope the players and the technical team will have all things to be more dangerous and to make problems in the defence of Ghana and we hope we make it victorious against Ghana”, he outlined.
“Ghana is a fabulous team with famous players; Andre Ayew, Jordan Ayew, world cup players. They play at the world cup but I think it’s a motivation for us to have another quality of football, it’s a motivation for us to show our talent, to show our quality. So it’s an opportunity”, he stressed.
