Third most successful winners of the AFCON, Ghana is out of the ongoing edition in Cameroon after shocking 3-2 defeat to Comoros.

It is the first time Ghana couldn’t make it to the knockout stage since Egypt 2006 where Ghana was defeated by Zimbabwe 2-1 in the last group game.

Ghana could have gotten the chance to play in the round 16 as one of the best third placed teams if they had beaten the debutants today in Group C.

Ghana ended the game with ten men after captain Andre Ayew was sent off following his bad tackle on goalkeepeer Boina.

Comoros fought bad for the second goal through Faiz Mattoir’s 61st minute strike.

Ghana came with an equalizer just three minutes after the minnows second goal courtesy of Richmond Boakye.

At the 77th, Ghana levelled the game with Alexander Djiku’s goal.

The four times winners kept on fighting for the win but failed at the latter part of the game to Comoros after Ahmed Mogni made it three.

At the end of the day, Morocco ended first in Group C with seven point, Gabon second with five points, Comoros on the third position with three points as Ghana stays down the line with just a point.
