Ghana Premier League (GPL) giants Asante Kotoko have finally confirmed the transfer of their number one goalkeeper Razak Abalora to Moldovan side Sherif Tiraspol on a permanent deal.
Ghana’s leading sports news website ghanasportspage.com reported on January 12 that Abalora was leaving the club after joining in 2020, having gathered intelligence and sources from the local media. Asante Kotoko have now confirmed the departure of the 25-year old former deputy skipper, describing him as an “outstanding goalkeeper”.
“Outstanding goalkeeper @RAbalora has completed a permanent transfer to Sherif Tiraspol of Moldova!!”, Asante Kotoko announced via Twitter on Friday.
The current GPL season leaders expressed their appreciation for the services of the former WAFA goalkeeper, wished him well as he begins a new challenge in his career with the 2021/2022 UEFA Champions league debutants.
“We thank our former deputy captain for his dedicated service and wish him well in his new home”, the club continued.
