Defending league champions Accra Hearts of Oak have made a giant move to sign Bibiani Gold Stars primary target Prince Opoku Agyemang from Medeama Sporting Club in the ongoing transfer window.
Premier league debutants Gold Stars have made advanced steps to sign Opoku Agyemang, who has fallen out of favour at the Tarkwa based club to bolster their attack as they seek to beat relegation and remain in the top flight by the end of the season. The “Miners” have submitted official bed to Medeama Sporting Club looking to land the signature of Black Stars B striker, but are now faced with stiffer opposition from Accra Hearts of Oak.
Hearts of Oak coach Samuel Boadu is in dire need of the striker augment his attacking potency of Kofi Kordzi, Kojo Obeng Jnr and Victory Aidoo to rescue the mission of defending ultimately, their FA Cup title won last season, or possibly the league title. Boadu has placed official request to Hearts of Oak to quickly secure the signature of Prince Opoku Agyemang.
Ghanasportspage.com can reliably report, that Bibiani Gold Stars have tabled a juicy offer, a tempting one which, under normal circumstances will be difficult for the player and Medeama to turn down, and it will take a superior offer and factors beyond the negotiating table to topple Bibiani Gold Stars.
The 29-year old goal poacher joined Medeama SC from New Edubiase United on a 3-year contract in December 2019, and had a good start to the 2019/2020 GPL season where he scored impressive 11 goals in 14 matches for the club before the league’s eventual cancellation due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in Ghana back in March 2020.
As football went into a complete shut in Ghana due to the novel covid-19 virus outbreak, Opoku joined South African top flight side Cape Town City FC on an initial one season loan deal in October 2020, barely a month to the start of the 2020/2021 GPL season. His loan was however cut short barely after four months, and he returned to Medeama in January 2021. He featured for the Medeama in the 2020/21 league and scored 11 goals in the remaining matches he came to meet before the end of the season under the then coach Samuel Boadu.
Following the departure of coach Samuel Boadu from Medeama to Accra Hearts of Oak in March during the league season, Prince Opoku Agyemang’s position in the Medeama set began to decline as he has watched more of the 2021/2022 league matches from the bench of Medeama.
Obviously, the player wants to leave and Medeama on the other hand are also ready to sell, and the club with a better deal will win the race at the end of the day. We will update our cherished readers and fans followers on every development as an when they arrive.
