Ghana Premier League (GPL) leaders Kumasi Asante Kotoko have made a social post which seems to aim at their arch rivals Accra Hearts of Oak, though hilarious, but seems to be a an upper cut in the face.
Accra Hearts of Oak kept their numerous fans and the followers of the club in suspension with a social media post last Wednesday, which showed an ash-colour looking chair with a nice background design.
The post was accompanied by the caption “Anticipate”, written in upper case, which could be interpreted as a teaser or trailer of an upcoming crucial announcement, either of a new signing or otherwise.
Though no official announcement has been made yet, ghanasportspage.com can report that the Phobians have beaten rivals Asante Kotoko to the signature of WAFA captain Konadu Yiadom, pending official announcement.
On the said Wednesday, fans of Accra Hearts of Oak were keenly waiting for an official announcement by the club that they have successfully signed the 21-year old left-back, along with Ebusua Dwarfs captain Dennis Korsah.
The “Anticipate” teaser post by Hearts of Oak kept many in suspense, but to their likely disappointment, only a departure of out of favour striker Victor Aidoo and Issaka Akuka on loan to Real Tamale United has been announced so far. It’s been four days now since the “Anticipate” post was released but the wait for a major announcement still hangs on.
In what seems to be a direct reaction to and a criticism of the action of Hearts of Oak, Asante Kotoko have on Saturday, January 29, taken to the club’s official social media Account to post a picture of a damaged chair with the caption, “Antici” along with an emoji expressing wonder.
The move by Asante Kotoko seems to be a direct jab aimed at their arch rival Hearts of Oak, probably for delaying their expected announcement, or deceiving their fans.
Without any sentiment, the hilarious nature of the two actions of Ghana’s greatest football clubs makes it a fun to be a football fan.
