The qualifiers for the FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup to be held in Costa Rica this year continues as Ghana hosted the Uganda U-20 Women’s national team at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium in a second leg encounter.
The Black Princesses of Ghana sealed a 5-0 triumph over Uganda to book a place in the next round.
Already having a 2-1 advantage from the first leg, Coach Ben Fokuo’s side opened the tally with a high pressing football at the 22nd minute of soccer action through Evelyn Badu and the second goal from Salamatu Abdulai at the 26th minute.
The two goal lead separating the two sides remained on the score board for the first half but the home side kept on throwing a punch to the visitors back in the second half to extend the lead courtesy Rahama Jafaru at the 82nd minute.
Impressiively, the home side fought to get the fourth and fifth goal through Doris Boaduwa at the 86th minute and the 90+3 minute.
They ended up with the 5-0 lead at home and were cheered up by the fans.
Ghana have automatically qualified to the next stage and will lock horns with Ethiopia after 7-1 aggregate scoreline against Uganda.
The major tournament will kick off on 10th August to 28th August.
