Accra Great Olympics have caused a sharp pain to their rivals Accra Hearts of Oak in Week 16 GPL clash at the Accra Sports Stadium.
The two teams performed well and played out an energetic football with a great support from the fans.
The Dade Boys bounced back to beat the Rainbows by a goal to nil following their last week’s defeat to league leaders Asante Kotoko.
Hearts of Oak believes referee Hanson deliberately overlooked an obvious penalty and denied them the chance to take lead at the 9th minute.
At the 30th minute, Hearts conceded the only goal after a smart move by Yussif Razak before the break.
Despite the lead, Annor Walker’s Olympics remained focus during the second half to maintain the one goal with pound for pound action.
Ex-Inter Milan star Sulley Muntari who spent many years of his football career in Europe made his debut for Hearts of Oak with witty performance but it wasn’t enough to grab a point for Samuel Boadu’s side. He came off the bench for William Denkyi at the 77th minute whiles captain Fatawu Mohammed also returned to the pitch after serving two weeks suspension.
Hearts of Oak failed to take a revenge on their rivals amidst the pressure mounted on their opponent at the last minutes plus the additional five minutes.
Olympics have climbed to the 5th position with 25 points as Hearts of Oak slips to the 7th position with 23 points.
