Former Inter Milan midfielder Sulley Muntari has made hsis debut for Ghana Premier League holders Accra Hearts of Oak in the club’s premier league match against city rivals Accra Great Olympics on Sunday at the Accra sports stadium.
The Black Stars midfielder came off the bench in the 77th minute of the second half of the match to replace William Dankyi in the ‘Ga-Mantse’ derby. Great Olympics took the lead in the 30th minute in the first half of the game through a Yusif Abdul-Razak strike which remained the only goal in the game till half time.
Coach Samuel Boadu made substitutions in the second half seeking a leveler, and brought on Muntari to replace Dankyi after Fatawu Mohammed had come on for Gladson Awako.
Muntari’s introduction brought in insightful play to the Hearts of Oak set up, but was not enough to secure a point for the Phobians as the ‘Dade’ lads went home with all three points after 1-0 victory.
