Accra Lions Football Club has confirmed the departure of their striker Rauf Salifu to Major League Soccer powerhouse Sporting Kansas City.
The 19-year-old goal-getter joins the American side with immediate effect on a season-long loan with an option to buy the player at the end of 2022. Rauf has been the best goalscorer in the history of our club so far. His 21 goals in the 2020-21 Division One League season guided us to the league title and promotion to the Ghanaian Premier League.
Rauf had an impressive performance with the Lions and played a pivotal role for the newly GPL promoted side.
The club announced the departure of the young man through their official Facebook page on Monday evening.
