Head coach for Real Tamale United, Shaibu Tanko has expressed satisfaction about the performance of his players in the ongoing GPL season.
Ibrahim Shaibu Tanko, who masterminded their top-flight return after eight years, is the only survivor when the club dissolved its management committee before the commencement of the 2021/22 league season.
A new backroom staff led by Mr. Kassim Perez was appointed to bankroll the club for the years ahead.
The GPL promoted side did not start the season well as they tasted a 2-0 defeat in their opener to King Faisal in Kumasi.
After week 16 of the league they currently occupy the 12th position on the league log with 19pponts.
Coach Tanko is impressed with the performance so far amidst injury challenges in camp.
“I’m impressed about the performance because we are a newly promoted side in the GPL and we should understand that experience counts as far as playing at that high level is concerned, Tanko told ghanasportspage.com.”
“We have 34 matches and we’ve just played 16 matches so how do you conclude that we won’t survive? We being at the 12th position on the log means we are moving forward.
“We have some few challenges especially in the last five matches or so, I mean most of our players are injured but thank God they are recovering gradually”, he added.
RTU will on Sunday lock horns with Accra Hearts of Oak at the Tamale Sports Stadium in a week 17 clash.
