“When I took over from Ben Kofi a couple of years ago, he cautioned me that where I am going if I can handle it well he will be extremely happy. I remember I asked him ‘why couldn’t you clear that place yourself?’ And he laughed. Now, when I got him my policy was just to play football with football people but within a short period of time I realized that the place was full of what Karl Tufuor said wolves or Alhaji said. And this wolves were all over…. but I remember before president Kuffuor appointed me to that position he told me that where he is sending me is not an easy place but he knows I can do it then I remember he said Nyaho don’t go and play your own tricks. I said Kofi what are you talking abou? This happened in Cape Coast during a party congress then he laughed and said don’t go and favour Accra Hearts of Oak and I promised him I will never behave that way and I hope you will give me a free hand to run this particular office and he promised me he will… and I’ve said this on various platforms that Kuffuor never interfered with my work at the FA.” He said.
The Black Stars of Ghana are battling to halt the 40-years trophy drought but had the worse ever performance at the recent AFCON.
