Last night on GTV Sports+ saw the four Ex-Ghana Football Association gaffers, Mr. Jawula, Nana Sam Brew, Dr. Nyaho Tamakloe, and Kwasi Nyantakyi in a discussion concerning Ghana football and the matters arising.
One of the issues that were discussed is about players moving to some of the underrated football nations to earn money.
Most of the Ghanaian players leave the shores to those countries just to earn more than what they get in Ghana to feed their families.
Thailand, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Philippines are some of the Asian countries that pay much better than what the players earn in Africa as their salary.
After the former GFA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi was quizzed about the matter he divulged “If my team WA All-Stars is paying a player 500 cedis, and he gets a contract in Vietnam and he’s paid 5,000 dollars and I don’t allow him to go, his family members and elders will besiege my house. It’s all about demand and supply.”
President Kwasi Nyantakyi is the first GFA boss to lead Ghana to play at the World Cup three consecutive times (2006, 2010, and 2014).
He ruled that Ghana football from 2005 to 2018, where he was banned by FIFA to abstain from any sporting activities due to alleged bribery issues following an investigation by an undercover Ghanaian journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas in June 2018.
