The Reds went into the game with 2-1 disappointing defeat to Elmina Sharks on Week 16.
The visitors also landed in the capital city of Ashanti Region with 1-0 triumph over Medeama SC at home.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko started the game with a stunning performance, mounted pressure on the lads to get an early opener at the 3rd minute.
The home side who made their early dominance counted with a superb left-footed goal from Frank Etouga from inside the box.
For the first time, The Lions had an opportunity to move forward, managed to get the ball into the box of the Reds, tried to seal an equalizer but Danlad came to make a save.
The battle saw the home side stretching up an upper hand on the visitors.

Cameroonian International, Etouga had a stunning performance in the throttle. He nearly had a hat-trick at the 58th minute after receiving a pass from the edge of the box but he bended his effort inches wide of the post.
The Warriors dominated with a team play by as they controlled the game with lots of short passes.
The visitors failed to hold Frank Etouga as he got the hat-trick at the 84th minute to increase the tally for the home side.
Kumasi Asante Kotoko are still taking the lead on the table with 36points after the first round of the Ghana Premier League.
