Swedish club Helsingborg has officially announced the signing of Asante Kotoko midfielder Joseph Amoako on one year loan deal.
Both Asante Kotoko and the Swedish club have announced the transfer of the 19-year will be with the European side till the end of the current football season, but his new employers are entitled to a clause in the deal that allows them to make the deal permanent at the end of his loan spell.
Amoako’s transfer became a reality after making use of the Asante Kotoko platform, when he featured for the Porcupine Warriors on just two occasions after joining from lower tier side Red Bull before the commencement of the ongoing 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season. His move is expected to get him more playing time, one which he would not easily get in the mean time at Asante Kotoko, considering the competition in the current squad.
Asante Kotoko took to social media to announce the departure of young winger on Saturday, saying: “AKSC and Helsingborgs IF of Sweden 🇸🇪 have agreed on a one-year loan deal with an option to buy for Joseph Amoako.
We wish you all the best, Joe”.
After his unveiling, Joseph Amoako told Helsingborgs IF how he feels about joining the club as yet another Ghanaian to play for the Swedish side.
“It’s an honor to be here. I am happy and grateful to be a part of this family. Benjamin Acquah has told me that it is a family club, that everyone around the club is friendly and that everyone will take care of me as they did with him. I am a fast outfielder who likes to challenge and is good with both feet. Olympia is a great arena and I look forward to playing matches here”, he told the club’s official website.
