Coach Shaibu Ibrahim Tanko, head coach for Real Tamale United has accounted on their goaless draw against Accra Hearts of Oak.
The GPL returnees, RTU hosted the reigning champions of the league at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in a cagey competition that saw ex-Black Stars winger Sulley Muntari competing for the second time for the Phobians.
Coach Tanko who had his record at Hearts of Oak as an ex-boss insists the scoreline is the fair representation of the match.
He also indicated that he is not disappointed with the result since some of his guys are making their first appearance in the local league.
Commenting about the goaless draw against the visitors he revealed “It was fair representation of the match. We are not disappointed. Not really because we just registered them, they are new players so this is their first outing so I wouldn’t be surprised to have seen what I saw.”
After the first round of the season, the Northern giants are sitting at the 13th position with 20points.
RTU will play against another Accra giants, Great Olympics at the Accra Sports Stadium in the opener of the second round that kicks off on 25 February.
