Ex-Black Stars player, Samuel Inkoom has reacted to the performance of his former club, Kumasi Asante Kotoko in the ongoing season.
After 16 games, Kumasi Asante Kotoko is leading the league table with 36points out of 11 wins, three draws, and two defeats.
Inkoom who has been linked to joining the club as a free agent is impressed with the sumptuous performance of the Porcupines.
Only King Faisal and Elmina Sharks have defeated the Reds in a hard-way game this season.
According to Inkoom, the GPL giants are taking their chances with a scintillating performance but they need to work extra hard to fight for the ultimate.
The defender insists his former side shouldn’t declare themselves as the champions of the season but they should keep on taking their chances since there is a lot of surprises in the game called football.
“I think now they are head of the table, you know they are taking their chances, and am not saying that they are not doing well. They are doing very well but they have to do extra. I have one feeling that if the game is not finished and the season is not finished you can say you are champion. There is a lot of surprises in football which you know and I also know. We have I think almost eighteen games to go for the second round if am not wrong and if they don’t take their chances and relax and say they are champions, there’s going to be a surprise but if they maintain the way they are playing I think why not… they can be champions” Inkoom divulged on Peace FM.
Asante Kotoko will lock horns with the title holders Accra Hearts of Oak in a Super Clash encounter come Sunday at the Accra Sports Stadium in an outstanding week 7 game of the season.
